(Category: My Journey)
Along my journey, many fun things have occurred. This story is one of the many.
My grandparents, on my dads’ side, were fantastic people. I loved them dearly.
64 years of marriage before grandma passed on. 64 years of good natured arguing. Yes, they loved to argue. It never got nasty or violent. And, to the best of my memory, they never got really angry, just ruffled the feathers a bit from time to time.
By the time I was old enough to understand all that, they were up there in years. Both of them had hearing loss and wore hearing aids. But still, they continued to argue.

It became comical as I grew up. They would start arguing and, invariably, one or both would turn there hearing aids down.
Imagine a young child approaching the teenager’s years, sitting with grandma and grandpa, listening to them arguing about two different things. Yes, I had to keep a straight face too.
Grandma would be going on and on about one thing. Grandpa would be answering her back about something completely different.
I remember this moment vividly. We had gone up to northern California to visit the grandparents. That day they provided a marvelous dinner, complete with our choice of apple or cherry pie. Grandma was such great cook. With most of us stuffed and finished with dessert and grandma doing the dishes it happened.
Grandma leaned over to grandpa and asked, “How’s the pie”
Without missing a beat, grandpa looked at his watch and said, “It’s a quarter past four.”
Grandma smiled and went back to doing the dishes, grandpa went back to finishing his pie, and us .... well ... we were rolling on the floor laughing... oops.
Thank you for stopping by,
